Q & A
Q. What days do you hold classes and what time?
A. Classes are held Tuesdays & Thursday 9am to 12pm. Wednesdays & Fridays 9am to 2pm.
You may choose 1, 2, or 3 mornings a week.
Q. What ages do you have in your classes? Do you accept homeschoolers?
A. Our students range from 3 to 13 years, in our Forest Time program. We also have classes for 18 months to 3 years of age, accompanied by a parent/guardian. We believe the younger learn from the older & as well as the older learn to care for the younger. We call this learn/share blending. This creates a bond within our group of children. In addition, the children are given divided time to play. The older children are given Coyote Time. This enables them to explore, play & learn a more advanced way with one of the teachers. Homeschoolers are encouraged to enroll!
Q. Are you really outdoors most of the time? What about weather & gear?
A. Yes!! Forest School Education means being outdoors in all types of weather! Children learn, play, laugh & giggle in the sunshine, rain & snow! Gear & weather ideas are included in the handbook. *If there is inclement weather, be sure to check your app for changes to class location for that day! We are currently searching for a permanent location for those inclement weather days.
Q. Do you accept monthly payments?
A. Yes! Monthly payments are made one month in advance. Fees are paid on a monthly basis.
Q. Do you have any scholarships?
A. Yes, on a limited basis. We believe finances should not hinder a child's education. We host fundraisers to build the scholarship funds. We accept donations anytime of the year.
Q. Are the children REALLY learning or just playing?
A. Yes! They ARE learning AS they PLAY! We incorporate lessons, books, songs & activities that are both fun & educational. We strongly encourage you to read the books "Balanced and Barefoot" by Angela Hanscom & "There Is No Such Thing As Bad Weather" by Linda McGurk. Both of these books are required reads for our teachers & volunteers.
Q. I want to volunteer or help donate. How can help?
A. We love our Forest Families! Volunteers will be asked to complete a background check & training. We love donations of craft items, gear & food! *Check the wish list.
